Atelier78

The Project

Atelier78 was an architectural visualisation studio producing CGI imagery for property developers, architects and design teams.

I worked with the studio to refresh its visual direction, improve the website navigation and create a flexible WordPress portfolio that presented its work in a cleaner, brighter and more engaging way.

Creating a stronger setting for the work

Atelier78’s existing website used a dark visual style that no longer reflected the direction of the studio.

The team felt the heavy black backgrounds competed with the architectural imagery rather than supporting it. The goal was to create a lighter, more contemporary experience that allowed the detail and atmosphere of each project to stand out.

Refreshing the visual direction

I developed a neutral colour palette built around white and warm sand tones.

The restrained palette created clearer separation between sections while providing a calm backdrop for the studio’s detailed CGI work. Typography, spacing and layout were kept clean and understated so the imagery remained the main focus.

Improving navigation and project discovery

The original website also needed a clearer way for visitors to explore the studio’s portfolio.

I reorganised the navigation and redesigned the project area to make the work easier to browse. The initial build supported detailed project case studies, giving the team the flexibility to add background information and larger image galleries where needed.

The project section was later simplified into a visual gallery so visitors could browse the full body of work more quickly, while retaining the option to introduce detailed project pages again in the future.

Designing a more engaging homepage

The homepage combined large architectural imagery with concise messaging and subtle animation.

Text and visuals were brought together within the hero area to communicate Atelier78’s service clearly, while selected projects, client logos and supporting content helped build credibility as visitors moved through the page.

Supporting enquiries and lead generation

The website was designed to do more than display portfolio work.

I introduced clear enquiry routes, live chat and a downloadable resource that allowed Atelier78 to capture email addresses from prospective clients. These features helped turn the site into a more useful marketing tool for the business.

Flexible WordPress development

I designed and developed the website as a responsive custom WordPress build.

The content structure gave the team control over projects, imagery and supporting content, while allowing the website to adapt as its priorities changed. The layouts were tested across desktop, tablet and mobile to maintain a consistent experience at every screen size.

The result

The completed website gave Atelier78 a brighter and more professional digital presence that better complemented the quality of its architectural imagery.

The flexible project system, lead-generation features and improved navigation provided a stronger foundation for showcasing the studio’s work and supporting new business enquiries.
