Website Refreshes & Rebuilds
Improve the website you have, without rebuilding for the sake of it.
I help businesses update websites that feel dated, unclear or difficult to manage. Depending on the foundations, that may mean a focused refresh, a new design, or a cleaner WordPress rebuild.
Signs the site is ready for attention…
A refresh or rebuild is worth considering if
- The business has moved on but the site has not.It still reflects an earlier version of what you do.
- It's difficult to edit Every small change means going back to whoever built it, or fighting with a page builder.
- It's slow or held together by too many plugins Performance is quietly costing you visitors.
- Visitors struggle to understand the offerThe message is not landing in the first few seconds.
- The next step is not obviousPeople are not sure how to enquire, book or get in touch.
- You are unsure whether to fix a few pages or rebuild fullyA short review tends to make that decision straightforward.

Working with me
Design and development handled together
I manage projects from the initial brief through planning, design, development and launch.
Because I work across both design and development, there is no disconnect between how a website is intended to look and how it eventually works. What is approved during the design stage is carried through carefully into the finished build.
I have more than ten years of industry experience, including six years in a senior agency role and previous experience as a Creative Director. I have worked on projects for organisations including CERN, The Guardian, Lexus and Amazon, alongside independent businesses, agencies and growing teams.
That experience helps me manage projects clearly, anticipate potential issues and keep the process moving without unnecessary layers of communication.
Why work with a freelancer?
You work directly with the person designing and developing your website.
There are no account managers, lengthy handovers or separate teams interpreting the same brief differently. This keeps communication clearer, decisions faster and the final result more consistent.
It also gives you flexibility. I can take responsibility for a complete website project, collaborate with your existing designer, or provide development support as part of a larger agency team.
Not sure whether to refresh, rebuild or leave it alone?
Send over your current website, your goals and the areas that are not working. I can take a look and suggest some ideas.
- Keep what worksUseful content, brand assets and functionality do not need to be discarded.
- Fix the right problemThe scope follows what is actually holding the site back, not a predetermined package.
- Create better foundationsDesign and WordPress improvements that make future changes easier.

FAQs
Web design questions
Do I need all the copy before we start?
No, but the process is smoother when the main messages are taking shape. I can help structure the pages and identify what content is still needed.
Will the website be custom designed?
Yes. The layout and visual system are created around your content and brand, rather than forcing the project into a prebuilt template.
Can you work with my existing branding?
Yes. I can work within an established identity, or recommend a light refresh where the current brand is limiting the website.
How long does a website design and build project take?
Most full projects take six to ten weeks. Timing depends on page count, functionality, feedback turnaround and how ready your content is.
How much does a website design and build cost?
It depends on scope, but most projects fall within a defined range once we have talked through pages, functionality and content needs. Get in touch with a rough idea of what you need and I will give you a realistic figure early on, not after weeks of back and forth.
Can you improve an existing WordPress website?
Yes. This might involve fixing specific issues, creating new sections, improving performance or rebuilding the site on a cleaner foundation.
For larger redesigns, the Website Refreshes and Rebuilds service may be more suitable.
Do you work with agencies?
Yes. I provide white label and freelance WordPress development for agencies that need additional capacity or a dependable development partner.
